Meta Command Systems is developing a range of software tools and components to enable construction of secure and reliable executive command, communications and control services. The components are collected in service suites around a core operational framework.
EOS™ Framework
The EOS Framework consists of a set of shared services required to launch and coordinate the actions of the specialized EOS applications. These basic services include configuration, administration, security, scheduling, alarm and event processing, priority messaging, reporting and data acquisition functions for management display and control.
EOS™ Visualization Services
EOS Visualization Services provide three classes of interactive secure wired and wireless user interfaces to the enterprise command, communications and control environment: 1) displays and controls utilized by management to interact with their respective enterprise control functions at echelons 1 through 5; 2) visualization services that provide the interactive interfaces to the clients of the enterprise value production units, namely the "investor portal", the "customer portal", the "supplier portal", and the "producer portal"; and 3) visualization services related to the technical management of the Bridge itself.
EOS™ Control Services
EOS Control Services provide for the creation, configuration, deployment and administration of control models and algorithms required at echelons 1 through 5. These services execute as agents for management policy and provide both direct and supervisory controls, alarm and event handlers, synchronization of scheduled actions, and other open and closed loop management services.
EOS™ Scheduling Services
EOS Scheduling Services establish the time base for all enterprise management action and provides the policies and mechanisms for scheduling control actions, synchronizing activities among managers, between managers and their value production units, and between value production units and the clients. EOS Scheduling Services implement real-time scheduling functions (e.g., penalty functions) to aid in the prioritization of action. This service aids in the allocation of computing and communications resources to establish "contracts" or "service level agreements" between and among enterprise control functions so that specific quality of service (QoS) levels may be established and maintained.
EOS™ Alarm & Event Notification Services
EOS Alarm and Event Notification Services provide for timely recognition, communication, display, and acknowledgement of enterprise operational events. Events with a high level of priority are considered "alarms" and cause the EOS Framework to guarantee their timely deliver and acknowledgement. The alarm and event notification services provide the basis for reactive behaviors of the Control Services, a key element in the ability of the enterprise to establish and maintain its agility at all levels of management.
EOS™ Historian Services
EOS Historian Services provide for the capture, time stamping, sorting, correlating, storing, retrieving and report generation of EOS history. EOS history unfolds at all levels of the enterprise and in all echelons of control. As a consequence, the Historian Services provide a central repository where the the events of the past may be recalled and used as knowledge for calculation of future action. where in causal relationships may be analyzed, and where management's or Control Services' response to alarms and events may be reviewed in order to simulate future situations or to improve performance.
EOS™ Simulation Services
EOS Simulation Services provide for the specification, development, and deployment of simulation models for each level of the enterprise and each echelon of control. This (6x5) dimensional space defines the "state space" of the enterprise. The behavior of value production units and their interaction with management controls represent a rich environment for development and training. The Simulation Systems provides the tools for characterizing past behaviors as recorded by the Historian Services, as well as simulation future behaviors given hypothesis about the performance of product and capital markets, labor and material supplies, and so on .
EOS™ Configuration (Tools) Services
EOS Configuration (Tools) Services provide the means to manage the EOS technical environment. These services include the verification and validation of EOS performance, the maintenance of user profiles for security and accountability, the upgrade of EOS software, and the status of display, computing and communications resources.
